Extra Curricular Activities

Extracurricular activities are a great way for kids to meet new friends, learn new things or give something back to their community. Best of all, studies show that students who are involved in after-school activities earn higher grades and are more successful – both academically and socially. Details about meeting dates and times are generally provided over the morning announcements and via notices posted around the school. Parents and students should also feel free to contact their guidance counselor or club advisor for more information.

Student Council membership provides an avenue for students to discuss ways to improve their school and have a voice in school operations. This is a great way for students to get leadership experience while having a positive impact on their school!

Elected by their peers, the council is made up of 12 BGMS students. 7th & 8th grade students serve as Student Council officers (president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer). In addition, each grade elects class representatives. 7th & 8th grade each have two representatives, and 6th grade has 4 representatives.
Meetings are held once a month. Members are required to participate in Student Council sponsored events, demonstrate leadership qualities, and show good character - both in & out of school!
