The Child Advocacy Center will be presenting a Sexual Abuse Awareness program at BGMS on December 17-18 during PE. Students have received a paper copy of the opt-out form. Each full week of school we are going to randomly select two students from each grade as your BGMS All Stars Of The Week. These students must have 0 unexcused absences, 0 tardies, 0 office referrals, 0 missing assignments, and 0 F’s for the week. Our most recent BGMS All Stars are: 6th Grade: Mary Gilbert and Jaxx Chinn, 7th Grade: Emma Miller and Benson Smith, 8th Grade: Rayna Stewart and Milam McMillen, Congratulations!

BGMS PTO welcomes the community to the Swap Shop on Dec. 16th from 3:30-5pm. This takes place in the HS Auditorium and everything is FREE. Please come and shop for yourself and others! These are all donated items and we want nothing left. Please join us!

Career Technical Education Day - Our eighth-grade students had the opportunity to learn about various courses and programs offered at the high school. Teachers from the Agriculture, Business, and FACS programs shared information about their courses, while a group of student panelists discussed their growth and experiences in the clubs.

8th Grade Career Presentations

On Monday, the 8th-grade Advanced Art class went to the ECC to create clay handprint or footprint
ornaments with all the students. They had a fantastic time learning about the PreK and
Daycare students and routines. Each student worked one-on-one to create unique ornaments.
Everyone was so helpful and wonderful!! Definitely, a new tradition has been started for the 8th-grade
Advanced class.

Each month we want to recognize a student from each grade level who exemplifies a positive characteristic that we look for in all of our students. They must also have at least 95% attendance, 0 office referrals, and 0 F's for the month. Once they have met these qualifications they are voted on by staff.

On October 29th, the 8th-grade Advanced Art and 8th-grade PLTW classes went to MU's Museum of Art and Archaeology. The students had a great time viewing art and ancient artifacts from all over the world. It was a great day!

Yesterday, the 8th-grade Advanced Art class had a special guest in the art studio, Elsa the cockatoo. Dalton Konieczny brought in this wonderful family member for the class to draw. Elsa was a great model for students to practice animal gesture drawings from real life, not just from a photo reference. The students really enjoyed Elsa; she was so sweet!
