Good Morning Bowling Green Middle School! Would you please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance; ( PAUSE SO STUDENTS CAN STAND) "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Lunch needs to be turned in by 10:30 to the box in front of the office. Anything received after 10:30 will be put on your account the following day. Mrs. Colbert will be hosting the Truman Book Club in the library this fall, it will begin on September 7th afterschool in the library. It will meet each Thursday from after school until 4:30 pm. This is open to any grade level. This is a great opportunity to get your AR goal. The club is also looking at doing some Meet the Author events this year also. You will read books on the Truman award list. Any questions, see Mrs. Colbert. Mrs. Kroencke will be hosting a 6th grade book club starting September 6th from 3:25 to 4:30 pm. If you plan on attending make sure you have someone to pick you up at 4:30. August 28th - Art Studio every Monday from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. 1st project: clay August 31st – Fall Picture Day - all orders are done online. September 6th – 6th grade Book Club from 3:25 – 4:30 pm. in Mrs. Kroencke’s room Just some reminders for the upcoming year. Cell phones need to be put away when you walk in the building in the morning. They need to be in your locker and turned off. Please make sure you know what your pick up plans are for afterschool by mid-day. You can use the phone in the office to contact your parents. I have to have a note and a call from your parent/guardian if you are riding a different bus and you will need to get a bus pass by cat time. Make sure you keep track of your schedule. This has your parents phone number on top if you need to use the phone in the office to call them. Please don't forget to complete the One2OneRisk information while completing the Online Student Registration. You will need to type in One2OneRisk (https://www.one2onerisk.com/) to navigate to the form. Even if you do not want Chromebook Insurance, you MUST complete the information.

Parents, Students are not required to purchase Chromebook insurance, but ALL STUDENTS must complete the registration acknowledgement on One2OneRisk.com. Chromebook insurance may also be purchased through this website. If a student fails to agree to the acknowledgement by September 1st their Chromebook will be disabled. Parents must also complete online registration through the SIS parent portal by Sep 1. If a student still has not completed the acknowledgment by September 8, they will be charged a missing/stolen device fine until the device is returned.

A new safety feature has been added at Bowling Green R-1 Schools. Anyone who enters the Bowling Middle School building must have some form of picture identification. You cannot pick up a student or leave the office without one.

Middle School Cross Country will start on Monday, Aug. 14th at 7:00 am . Please meet at the HS Track area. You must have all physcial and insurance papers signed before you can practice. Please call 573-324-5341 if you are not sure if those things are up to date.

If your 6th grade student has not attended Bobcat Academy, tomorrow is the last day. It is from 8:45 am - 11:00 am. Please drop your child off by the Special Education Doors in the HS parking lot.

If you have not already, be sure to contact the BGR-1 Central Office and get your tickets to the Cardinals game on Monday night August 28th and support the Bowling Green Bobcat Choirs, who are singing that night! The tickets are $20/each and are in sections 171 and 173.

Middle School Cross Country will begin on Monday, Aug. 14th. Students interested should meet at the HS Track area. Dear Parent/Guardian: 2023-24 online registration is open for our families. These are required yearly back-to-school forms to review and update information. Online registration can be completed on the parent portal using Tyler SIS Student 360 mobile app or the school website. Your username is your email address. Please complete and submit your forms by FRIDAY, AUGUST 18, 2023. If you do not have parent portal access, call any of the school offices for help. Two ways to access the parent portal: *Tyler SIS Student 360 is a free app that can be downloaded from the Apple iOS App Store or Google Play App Store. * https://www.bgschools.k12.mo.us/ Click on Menu, Scroll to Parents, Click SISk12 Parent Portal Schedules will be available on the portal soon.

In addition to checking out and returning books, the librarian will have activities planned surrounding a different featured author each week. You may stay for the entire 2-hour time frame or you may come to just check out, return books and then leave. Please enter through the middle school lower cafeteria doors by the SPED office. Since the building doors are locked, students will need to buzz in at the SPED doors and Mrs. Walker or Mrs. Bibb will unlock the doors. When the doors unlock please proceed to the library where Mrs. Colbert will be ready for your library visits. Incoming 6th graders for this fall are also invited to participate in the Summer Library Program at Bowling Green Middle School.

Friday May 19 is the last day of school and an early release day. School will be dismissed at 12:50pm. Please ensure that you speak with your child about their after school plans. All changes must be communicated with the office by 11:30 am.

You will be doing build challenges, electronics and 3D Modeling and Printing. There are flyers in the office for you to pick up. May 18th - 8th grade awards at 8:30 am in the high school gym followed by promotion practice. Promotion is at 6:00 pm in HS gym. You will take gowns home after school. 6th grade D&D after school. May 19th - Olympic Challenge - lots and games some will be outside some inside. There is a big blow up jump house coming. This is a super fun day with a lot of things going on. We will be selling candy for $1.00 so make sure you bring money. We will also dismiss at 12:50 pm.
